Fees Schedule
The practice charges fees are based on the scale of Australian Medical Association’s recommended fee schedule. For treatment at a private hospital, there will be a part of your surgical fee which will not be covered by Medicare and your health fund.
Private
- Dr Gupta operates on Private patients at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, The Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, and North Shore Private Hospital.
- Private Health Insurance allows you to have control of the facility and timing of your surgery.
- Please note insurance companies vary significantly in the coverage offered and the level of reimbursement provided.
- Our staff will provide you with the relevant details prior to your surgery in order to allow you to make informed choices.
Public
- Dr Gupta operates on public patients at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and The Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics.
- As a public patient, you will be added to the Public Waitlist. As RPA is an Accredited Teaching Hospital, your surgery may be performed by a Training Registrar, under the direct supervision of Dr Gupta.
Self-Funded
- You may choose to be admitted as a Private Self Funded (PSF) patient if you do not have health insurance, or if you are in waiting periods.
- You may choose to have your surgery through RPA, in which case Dr Gupta performs your surgery. As a PSF patient, the hospital will cover the cost of the prosthesis and imaging services. You will be responsible for the surgical, anaesthetic and accommodation fee, although you do receive a considerable portion back from Medicare.
