Dr Gupta sees and treats both public and private patients. Public patients can be seen both in the private rooms or in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Outpatient Clinic.
What if I don’t have Private Health Insurance?
You can make an appointment to see Dr Gupta in the Private Rooms regardless of your Insurance status.
Dr Gupta operates on Private patients at:
- Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
- The Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics (IRO) at RPA
- North Shore Private Hospital
- The Mater Hospital
Public patients will be treated at:
- Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
- The Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics (IRO) at RPA
If you are not in a Private Health Fund, and require elective surgery, you have 2 alternatives:
- Be admitted as a Public Patient
- Be admitted as a Private Self Insured (PSI) Patient
As a public patient, you will be added to the Public Waitlist. As RPAH is an Accredited Teaching Hospital, your surgery may be performed by a Training Registrar, under the direct supervision of Dr Gupta.
You may choose to be admitted as a Private Self Insured (PSI) Patient through the public system at RPA, in which case Dr Gupta performs your surgery. Post- operative consultations are in Dr Gupta’s Private Rooms and are free of charge. There is a fee associated with PSI admission, however, you do receive a considerable portion back from Medicare.
Please call us on (02) 9519 1919 and we would be happy to provide you with further information regarding this option.
